Using Stones on the body is not a new phenomenon. In fact, the
use stones and gemstones for healing purposes date back
thousands of years. The Chinese used heated stones more than
2,000 years ago to improve the function of internal organs.
Stones were also used for healing work in Africa, Europe, Egypt
and India. These traditions include laying stones in patterns on
the body, carrying or wearing stones for health and protection,
and using stones in the diagnosis and treatment of disease and
ceremonial uses. Native America Indians also used stones during
rituals and ceremonies and still use them in Sweat Lodges today.
